Miss Greater Sampson County 2010
Just another WordPress.com weblog

Hey everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying the gorgeous summertime weather!  I cannot believe it is June already!  Backtracking a little bit-on May 29th I was asked to emcee the Little Miss Sun-Kissed pageant with my good friend, Hannah Heintzleman.  Hannah is also Miss UNC Pembroke’s Outstanding Teen.  I also entertained with “Dancing in the Streets”  These girls were so cute!  Congratulations to all the winners!

Emceeing with Hannah!

Katy Locklear was there, too!

Later that evening, I was asked to judge and entertain at the Little Miss Autryville Pageant.  My good friends Alycia McLamb, and Alyssa Quattrone judged, too.  Let me tell you, Sampson County girls have got talent!  I’ve never seen so many driven dancers, singers, and musicians.  They were great!

June 4th and 5th were spent at the Sampson County Relay for Life!  I was honored to be a co-captain with Hailey Usher.  This was such a truly rewarding experience, as cancer runs in my family.  It was great getting out in the community, meeting people and of course seeing old friends!  Our team was “Crowns for a Cure” and consisted of several local title holders around the county. Our tent was themed “Las Vegas” as thats where Miss America is held.  Saturday morning, I entertained at KidsWalk where children could go and play games and continue to fundraise for Relay for Life.

June 6th was a blast!  Several of the local Miss North Carolina Contestants and a few Outstanding Teen Contestants went to Greenville at the Brody School of Medicine to fundraise for Children’s Miracle Network.  This telethon has been around for 25 years!  Then we took a tour of the Hospital, and learned about the new expansion to the children’s wing, beginning later next year.  We also met with several former CMN children, and heard their stories of courage and perseverance.

Katherine was there, too!

I cannot wait for the next few weeks!  I’ve worked incredibly hard and am so ready for Miss North Carolina!  It’s right around the corner!  Thank you everyone for your continued support and prayers, it means so much to me.  I hope to make Sampson County Proud!
