Less than two weeks and I will no longer be Miss Greater Sampson County!  September 11th, I attended the Miss Greater Sandhills pageant.  Emmy McLean was on the Azalea Festival Court with me, and gave up her title that night.  Emmy has been a wonderful ambassador for the Miss America system, and embodies what a […]

First, let me start off by saying I love graduate school!  Although much more time-consuming than undergraduate–It is concentrated on more independent study, which is something I appreciate.  My professors are wonderful, and very encouraging.  I’m planning on doing research this semester with one of my professors, too! (All of course while making the Dean’s […]

Aside from getting ready for Grad School at NC State-and of course enjoying what little is left of summer, I always find time to volunteer when asked by the American Red Cross.  Today, August 12, I helped to stuff over 2,500 envelopes going out to local businesses around the Highlands Chapter area asking for donations […]

I along with 18 other Miss North Carolina contestants and Miss North Carolina herself had the wonderful opportunity to tour Fort Bragg on May the 20th.  Ft. Bragg is in the area that I represent, and being a Fayetteville native, I was no stranger to this military base.  We arrived early at the Airborne and […]

Cumberland County Schools wanted to help out with Haiti relief as soon as the earthquake occurred.  They successfully raised over $33,000 for the International Response Fund!  I had the opportunity to go to these schools and meet with outstanding students, who really showed a passion for their community and helping others.  Savannah Mullis, a third […]
